Green Business Assessment for Restaurant

Challenge: A Washington-DC based local restaurant/bar that was socially involved in the community was interested in becoming more environmentally-friendly. Eco-Coach was asked to conduct a sustainability assessments focusing on the environmental aspects of business operations.

Solution: Worked with the general manager to determine the current state of operations, including recycling and waste generation, energy and water consumption, and procurement of non-food items. Provided client with report and recommendations based on the findings. This took into account cost, environmental impact and degree of difficulty in implementing.

'Green Living' Workshop for Financial Institution

Challenge: A Fortune 500 company in the finance sector has been increasing its focus on sustainability. As part of this effort, it wanted to educate its employees and provide them with tools and resources to help them adopt a 'greener' lifestyle. Eco-Coach was asked to provide a workshop and resources to educate the employees on actions that they could take to achieve this.

Solution: Worked with a representative from their Environmental Council to put together a workshop that addressed the needs of the employees and provided them with further resources and action steps they could take to be healthier and greener.

LEED Certification Assessment for Large Developer

Challenge: A Boston-based development company was in the process of renovating an old building into a mixed use. Many of the changes that they were making were based on sustainability principles but they had not considered applying for LEED certification because they did not think the certification could be applied to this building. Eco-Coach was asked to review the current activities to determine whether the building could apply for LEED certification.

Solution: Worked with the project manager to review the activities to date, including materials used, energy efficiency actions taken, building location, water conservation measures, etc. .. Compared against LEED requirements and provided a report with a comparison of current activities and actions needed to obtain LEED certification for the building.
