The Green Home Makeover - Thursday, July 15, 7pm
You saw the TV programs and heard the experts but it sounds expensive - learn the inexpensive ways to have your own do it yourself makeover. We will touch upon energy and water conservation, water purity, toxic free living, and energy efficient lighting. We will also discuss green energy Sources available in your area, carbon offset programs to consider, tax credits and available financial incentives, indoor air quality, recycling, waste reduction and safety and Emergency Preparedness.

Saving the Environment in My Front Yard - Thursday,- July 22, 7pm
This is an introduction to urban organic food gardening, neighbor and native friendly wildlife gardening. Create a healthy environment for native plants and birds and transform your front yard or tiny container by learning how to fight climate change in an urban environment. Hands on course includes: site selection/design/soil preparation seed sourcing; planting/harvesting/composting; organic gardening techniques/natural pest control; container gardening; waterwise gardening.

Composting is the decomposition of organic materials to make an earthy, dark, crumbly substance that is excellent nutrition for your houseplants or enriching your garden. It is the best way to recycle your yard and kitchen wastes, and is a critical step in reducing the volume of garbage needlessly sent to landfills for disposal. Soil and healthy plants depend on compost. Join us in learning how to make compost with no smell, no fuss, and no muss!

Seal the Deal - Weatherproofing Your Home - Saturday, 18th , 11am
